Hudi's Tactical Level IIIA ballistic backpack plates, each weighs in at 1.2 pounds and measures 10"x12". It's 0.25" thick and is flat which fits perfectly into a backpack. It's roughly the same size as a 13" laptop and would be the perfect solution for worried parents or anyone who's looking for inconspicuous protection. These plates offer significantly better trauma protection over soft armor sold by other vendors.
These plates were independently tested by NTS-Chesapeake (a NIJ approved lab) according to NIJ 0101.6 standard with 6 rounds of 44 Mag, with zero penetration. We also tested them with 10 rounds of 9mm from 16" carbine from 15" away, with zero penetrations. All rounds were captured within 1/3 of the thickness.
It has a waterproof polyester/nylon cover ensuring your plate will last its 5 year shelf life. Rated at Level lIIA this plate is capable of taking multiple pistol rounds.
Please note, these will only stop handgun rounds, for rifle protection please get the Level 3+ plate.

I got this item to place into my grandson’s backpack that he takes to school.
